Adult Christian Initiation

The Journey of Faith Lasts a Lifetime. The Results of the Journey Never End.

What is RCIA?

RCIA is the process for adults to become full, active members of the Catholic Church. In our program, you connect with a small group, with members just like yourself, who desire to know more about the Catholic faith. Our goal is to not only help adults grow in their relationship with God, but also help them get acquainted with the faith community and become familiar with Catholic teachings and practices. We are here to help you get involved with the movement of the Catholic Church for a year - through its various seasons, like Advent, Christmas, Lent, and Easter. Regular attendance is a must as you will be taught (catechized) throughout the year preparing you to receive First Communion and Confirmation at the time of your Baptism. If you have already been baptized in a different church, you will be prepared to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) as well.

When We Meet:

RCIA meets weekly on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm, starting with a talk by the pastor or a staff member in the Parish Hall.

On Your Journey:

After a few weeks, a retreat will be offered which will give you time to reflect on your life and your journey of faith. You may want to ask yourself the following questions..."do you feel called to follow Jesus as a Catholic?" If so, the next step is to be formally welcomed or accepted into the Catholic faith at Mass.

You will be invited to various parish activities to make you feel connected and comfortable here. To also aid you on this "walk of faith," you need a strong Catholic person to act as your sponsor or godparent. You will be welcome to invite them to the classes, Mass, or any extra events, so that you can ask questions, pray or share your faith with them. If you need help in finding someone, we can assist you with that too!

For More Information:

If you have questions or are interested in joining our RCIA program, please do not hesitate to call the Church Office.

“No one puts new wine into old wineskins; otherwise the new wine will burst the skins and will be spilled,
and the skins will be ruined. Rather, new wine must be poured into fresh wineskins.”  Luke 5: 37-38
